Education technology company, PT Infrastruktur Digital Edukasi (IDE), provides Learning Management System (LMS) solutions based on mobile applications for educators who join the Indonesian Teachers Association (IGI).
The cooperation in making the "IGI Online" mobile application was marked by the signing of the Cooperation Agreement (PKS) by Sukarni Wongso, Director of IDE, and Danang Hidayatullah, Chairperson of IGI, in Jakarta, on Wednesday (9/6). Simply put, IDE will create a smartphone application "IDI Online" to support the digitization of the IGI teacher professional organization.
This application is also to support Indonesia's digital learning ecosystem for the better,at the same time ready to help IGI become a modern organization and be useful for the progress of members and the organization.
IDE Director Sukarni Wongso who read out remarks by Steven Samudera, President Director of MobileCom, IDE's parent company, said that through an integrated and comprehensive system, his party hopes to help education actors ranging from teachers, students,school policy makers so that parents can work together learning process with better quality standards through the Learning Management System application.
This partnership is expected to help the education sector in Indonesia, to be able to provide better educational outcomes and improve the work ability of educators for Indonesia's young generation," said Steven.
Destaria Soe'oed, General Manager of IDE, added that now comprehensive access to IGI members can be done in just one hand, with the main objective of supporting online teacher competency and welfare improvements.
“The IGI Online application is to facilitate the improvement of the insight of IGI members with a variety of online training that can be measured in one application.
It is also a two-way integrated information system facility, supporting organizational financial transparency, and facilitating member transactions," he explained.
Meanwhile, the General Chairperson of IGI Danang Hidayatullah stated that this collaboration aims to produce strengthening
commitment that IGI will continue to work together to improve teacher competence which leads to improving the quality of learning for students.Because we are all aware, education is the key to civilization.
Through it, we weave and knit hope for the progress of the nation and through the teacher the great hope is entrusted, because teachers are at the forefront of this long process.
“IGI will continue to contribute to the advancement of Indonesia's education,through synergies for advanced Indonesia.
We are committed to improving teacher competence, because only teachers understand their needs, Therefore, IGI comes from the teacher, by the teacher and for the teacher," he said.
Deployment in Semester II
According to Destaria, after the signing of this cooperation, his party will develop this mobile application at the beginning of the second semester of this year.
"We are targeting this application deployment activity to be carried out throughout the second semester of this year," he said.
Currently, the number of IGI members reaches more than 120 thousand educators spread throughout Indonesia; 34 provinces and around 500 districts/cities.
The IGI Online application will have several key features, including a centralized IGI database, a two-way communication forum, organizational financial transparency, information systems and aspirations (IGI members), competency enhancement, and e-commerce.
"The e-commerce feature is here to improve the welfare of IGI members with its own mobile payment system from MobileCom," he concluded.
